The Wildlife Damage Inspection Handbook 3rd ed. is designed to help wildlife management professionals, pest management professionals, home inspectors, and property managers identify damage cause by vertebrate animals to structures, to landscapes, and to livestock.

The test has been revised thoroughly and expanded to provide more detailed information on more topics.  The new layout and full-color printing are accented by more than 400 photographs and illustrations supporting the text.  

The book is divided into two parts:
Part 1 explains the theory and practice of inspection and provides strategies to identify animals by feces, bones, and eye-shine.
Part 2 contains modules reviewing the damage left by the most common problem wildlife in the United States. Each specied s module summarizes the animals biology, scat, diseases, and damage to property and livestock.  


About the Author:

Stephen M. Vantassel has been involved in wildlife damage management since 1984.  His articles have appeared in Wildlife Control Technology, Pest Control Technology, Fur, Fish, and Game, and others.  He is the former owner of Wildlife Removal Service, Inc., (sold in 1998), and has held wildlife control licenses in 3 states.  

His accomplishments include, Educator of the Year award from the National Wildlife Control Operators Association (2008), Certified Wildlife Control Professional (2001), and Academy Certified Professional (2007). He has written several books, including Dominion over Wildlife? An Environmental-Theology of Human-Wildlife Relations (2009) and The National Wildlife Control Training Program (2010).  

He is the project coordinator for wildlife damage management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he educates, the public through the Internet Center for Wildlife Damage Management, http://icwdm.org.
